March 2010.

Undies
500 2010:
There will
be no Undies 500 this year due to not enough participants. We did leave
registration as late as possible but it seems that everyone is too busy.
There was quite a bit of interest but only a few registered their car.
We are planning to hold a wake if there is enough interest so please
send an email to info@boulder.com.au if you would like to attend. Details
will be provided later. Thanks to all that have supported us in the
past. Anne

BP&DA
AGM
This will be held on 24th March at the Palace Theatre Recreation Centre,
commencing at 6.00pm. This is our most important meeting of the year
and we are always open to suggestion and constructive criticism.
The organization has been going in its present form for over 17 years.
It has been managing the markets in Boulder since March 1994 and they
have been held on the third Sunday of the month, rain, hail or shine.
The Palace Theatre
Recreation Centre was gifted to BP&DA in September 2002 and has
been well utilized since by the community. It is NOT owned by the Council,
but was purchased by the Community, for the Community in 1978, and BP&DA
manages the facility. There are plans underway to restore the front
façade to what it used to be in its hey-day as a picture theatre.
Stage Left Theatre Troupe:
Stage Left Theatre is continuing the fun and frivolity at a busy pace
at the Burt Street barracks.
"The Sound of Music" is now in rehearsal with the nuns and
Von Trapp children busily learning all their songs and working hard
with the vocal director and musical director.
SLAY (Stage Left Acting Youth) has re-commenced with Saturday morning
workshops for children. The classes are so popular there are now two
sessions to accommodate them all. The kids learn acting skills, perform
short scenes as well as studying theatre protocols and etiquette.
Also coming soon is a social night for all Stage Left memers - a fantastic
family fun night out. Keep Friday March 19th free and watch this space.
New members are always welcome whether you want to be on stage, back
stage, or helping out with pre-show activities.
Email stageleft@wowkal.com to find out more or phone president Lisa
van Oyen on 0439 091 391.

Final Sunset at the Soundshell:
The final of the
“Sunset at the Soundshell” concert will be held on Saturday
13th March. This time it is "Achtung Baby" - the ultimate
U2 show! So grab the picnic basket, rugs and chairs and head on down
for a great family night out. Music starts at 7.00pm.
These community concerts aim to benefit the community, not only as a
social occasion but also by providing these opportunities for not-for-profit
groups to be involved with providing drinks etc.
Clean
Up Australia Day
Clean Up Australia Day is on again this Sunday 7th March. The CY O’Connor
Rover Scout Crew and KBULG have heeded the Clean Up Australia Day call
to get involved in Cleaning up Kalgoorlie-Boulder. This year’s
site is focusing on cleaning up the major entry into the City, along
Great Eastern HWY.
Residents of Kalgoorlie-Boulder have the opportunity to get their hands
dirty and make a real difference and help our community and the local
environment on Clean Up Australia Day Sunday 7 March 2010.
David Gleeson Coordinator of KBULG reminds the community to arm themselves
with gloves and rubbish bags, wear sturdy footwear and work clothes,
a hat and sunscreen. It is extremely important that the entire community
gets involved on the day. Wether they join the scouts and KBULG or the
community can do their own clean up in their own streets. KBULG have
rubbish bags available for the community so if you require rubbish bags
please contact KBULG on 90916233 who will supply you with them free
of charge.
